HOW TO INSTALL COCONUT COIR SHADE SAIL?

Installing a coir shade sail is pretty simple if you follow the right steps. Coir sails are breathable, slightly stretchy, and lightweight, so they install similarly to fabric shade sails—but with a few extra care tips.

🛠️ How to Install a Coir Shade Sail

• The coir shade sail (triangle/square/rectangle)
• Mounting hardware:
  • Stainless steel D-rings (usually attached to the sail)
  • Turnbuckles, snap hooks, or carabiners
  • Pad eyes or eye bolts (for walls/poles)
  • Rope or tension cable (if required)
• Support points:
  • Walls, trees, or sturdy posts (metal or treated wood)

🔧 Installation Steps:

1. Plan the Area

• Choose a sunny outdoor area (patio, garden, beachside bar, pergola).
• Measure the space carefully—your sail should fit with 15–30 cm (6–12 in) tension gap on each corner for the hardware.

2. Install Anchor Points

• Use:
  • Pad eyes for walls/concrete
  • Lag screws with eye bolts for wood
  • Sturdy posts (set 60–90 cm into the ground with concrete)
• Position them at a slight angle so rainwater runs off the sail.

3. Attach the Coir Shade Sail

• Use the D-rings sewn into each corner of the sail.
• Connect to anchor points using:
  • Turnbuckles (for fine-tuning tension)
  • Snap hooks/carabiners
  • Rope or tension cable (if distances vary)

4. Tension the Sail

• Gradually tighten each turnbuckle or rope section.
• Pull tight enough so the sail is flat and stable—but not overly tight, as coir needs room to breathe and adjust.
