1. Raw Material Source

• Vietnam is one of the world’s largest producers of coconuts (mainly in the Mekong Delta: Bến Tre, Trà Vinh, Tiền Giang, and also Bình Định in Central Vietnam).

• The coconut husk (a byproduct of the coir fiber industry) is processed into:

  

  • Coir fiber (used for mats, ropes, mattresses)

  • Coco peat (coir pith) — fine dust & short fibers

    

2. Manufacturing Process of coco peat

1. Collection & Separation

   • Coconut husks are crushed → long fibers removed → leftover dust (coco pith) is collected.

2. Washing & Sieving

   

   • For horticulture-grade coco peat, the pith is washed thoroughly to reduce EC (electrical conductivity) by removing salts.

   • Then sieved to remove impurities, sand, and oversized particles.

3. Drying

   • Sun-dried or mechanically dried to bring moisture below 15%.

4. Compression

   • Dried peat is compressed into blocks/bricks (5 kg, 650 g, grow bags, etc.) using hydraulic press machines.

   • Compression ratio: 5:1 to 7:1 → saves shipping costs.

5. Packaging & Palletizing

   • Blocks are wrapped in PE or shrink film, then stacked on pallets.

   • Loaded into 40’ HC containers (approx. 22–24 tons = ~9,000 blocks).
