Using coir twine for hops farming involves several key steps to ensure your hops plants have the support they need to grow and thrive. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to use coir twine for your hops farm:

Materials Needed

  • Coir twine
  • Trellis system or poles
  • Scissors or a sharp knife
  • Stakes or ground anchors

Steps to Use Coir Twine for Hops Farming

    Set Up the Trellis System

    • Install Poles: Set up tall poles or a trellis system where you want your hops to grow. The poles should be strong enough to support the weight of the mature hops bines.
    • Top Support: Run a strong wire or rope horizontally between the tops of the poles. This will act as the main support for the coir twine.
  2. Cut and Attach the Twine
    • Measure Twine Length: Cut pieces of coir twine long enough to reach from the top support wire down to the ground with some extra length for tying.
    • Tie to Top Support: Securely tie one end of each piece of twine to the top support wire. Ensure the knots are tight and can hold the weight of the growing hops bines.
  3. Secure the Twine to the Ground
    • Anchor the Twine: Attach the other end of the coir twine to a stake or ground anchor. Drive the stake into the ground near the base of the hops plant.
