WHAT IS COCONUT FIBER MATTRESS?

A coconut fiber mattress, also known as a coir mattress or simply coir mattress, is a type of mattress that incorporates natural fibers derived from the husk of coconuts. It is an eco-friendly alternative to traditional mattresses made from synthetic materials.

2. HOW TO MAKE COIR FIBER MATTRESS?

   

• Husk Extraction: Start by obtaining coconuts and extracting the husks. You can do this by removing the outer shell of the coconut using a sharp tool or a dedicated coconut husking machine.
• Fiber Extraction: Once you have the husks, extract the fibers from them. This can be done manually or by using a machine called a defibering machine. The husks are fed into the machine, which separates the long, coarse fibers from the rest of the husk material.
• Cleaning and Drying: Clean the extracted coconut fibers to remove any dirt, debris, or impurities. Rinse them thoroughly with water and allow them to dry naturally under the sun or use specialized drying equipment.

  

• Fiber Sorting and Sizing: After drying, sort the coconut fibers based on their size and texture. You may need to cut or trim them to achieve a consistent length and thickness.
• Mattress Forming: Form the coconut fibers into a mat-like structure by layering them evenly. This can be done with the help of a machine that compresses and shapes the fibers into the desired thickness and dimensions.
