Desiccated coconut is the result of processing fresh coconut meat. First, they remove the meat from the coconut shell, capturing the sweet flavor, and then they dry it to create dried coconut flakes. The drying process preserves the natural flavor and extends the product’s shelf life.

Desiccated coconut is the meat of the coconut (also known as copra, coconut meat) that is shredded, defatted and dried by specialized equipment, produced from 100% natural ingredients fromt the white copra inside the dried coconut. After being shaved off the brown outer shell, it will be ground or chopped into granules / fibers or pieces. In the final step, it will be sterilized and packaged according to the standards of each market.

Types of Desiccated Coconut

There are two main types of Desiccated Coconut:

High Fat Desiccated Coconut: This type is made from whole coconut meat, including the coconut oil. It often has a rich, oily flavor and is suitable for cooking and baking.

Low Fat Desiccated Coconut: This type has had some of the coconut oil removed to lower its calorie content. Despite its lower fat content, it still imparts a fresh coconut flavor and you can use it in various culinary recipes.

Each piece of fresh, clean copra is put through a sterilization system and blanched continuously before being cut or grounded into the required particle sizes. We apply drying technology with advanced specialized equipment and metal detector system at each stage before putting it into packaging.

What is coir rope ?

Coir rope is made from coconut fiber which is found between the hard, internal shell of the outer coat of a coconut. After fully mature coconuts are harvested, they are put into machines to separate the long bristle fibres underneath the skin of the nut. This process is called wet-milling. Next, these coconut fibres are twisted into thicker and stronger strings to become coir rope. The coir fiber is relatively waterproof, and is one of the few natural materials that are resistant to damage by seawater.
